About Dave Tweedie (VIC)

David Tweedie is a 26 year old guitarist from Melbourne, Australia. For the last 8 years he has been working as a highly sought after musician with many different bands and artists around Australia and the Pacific Islands. Currently, David is guitarist and backing vocalist with leading Australian pop star Guy Sebastian, which is including many national and international tours, and radio/TV broadcasts.

He is also the guitarist for the Rize of the Morning Star showcase, which sees him performing regularly with reputable artist such as David Bridie, Natalie Pa’apa’a (Blue King Brown), George Telek (Papua New Guinea), Tabura (West Papua) and PNG master drummer Airileke. These shows see David travelling regularly to places such as Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and New Caledonia, collaborating with many local singers, and are sometimes to crowds of up to 30,000 people.

Last year, David wrote and produced the new single “Vision” from legendary American reggae group Big Mountain (became famous with “Baby I Love Your Way”) and had the opportunity to perform live with them also. As well as this, David is currently the guitarist for other artists in Australia, such as up and coming folk artist Ben Abraham, YouTube sensation Fatai, Melbourne soul singer Carmen Hendrix, the West African group “Jarabi” (who he toured to West Africa with in early 2013), the Tavares band (toured with them to Las Vegas in 2013 to support Snoop Dogg), and the Christian jazz-fusion group Grace_Note with whom he has recorded two albums and played at festivals all over Australia and New Zealand.

Some of the other reputable artists that David has been privileged to work/perform with in the past are Aloe Blacc, Lupe Fiasco, Shannon Noll, Timomatic (Tim Omaji), Blackstreet, Rohan Marley, The Paper Kites, Nathaniel, Ella Hooper (Killing Heidi), Wally de Backer (Gotye), Andrew De Silva (Australia's Got Talent Winner), Jason Heerah, didgeridoo legend Mark Atkins, John Flanagan and the Begin Agains, Gary Pinto (CDB, X factor vocal coach), Fijian pop star Elena Baravilala, Afrodesia, Tania G and Samantha Jade.
