About Deanne Jolly (VIC)

Without a doubt one of the most talked about ‘Blockheads’to date, Deanne Jolly is renowned for her tenacity and refreshingly honest, straight-shooting personality; which is quite the contrast to her soft, classic and contemporary interior design style. As a clear crowd favourite on last year’s The Block: Glasshouse, it is no surprise that Dea and her former-AFL-ruckman husband Darren (aka the Double Ds) were asked back to battle it out on this year’s The Block Triple Threat.

After lacklustre results last year, this season that had everyone on the edge of their seats at auction with the ‘seasoned renovators’ Dea and Darren smashing price benchmarksand bagging a windfall of almost $1 million, the highest inThe Block's10 season history. Their luxurious South Yarra apartment, which set itself apart from its competitors with a bright, airy kitchen and large, tropical outdoor courtyard, sold for an astonishing $2.29 million.

Over the past two years Dea has cemented herself asThe Block’sresident ‘Style Queen’, each week wowing the judges with her sophisticated design choices, deep understanding of colour palettes, and ability to create warm, inviting spaces.

Dea’s astute eye for style can largely be accredited to her background in fashion design, having previously owned her own fashionlabel, SOPHIE PENBERTHY, and held a number of high level sales and marketing roles at leading Australian and International retail brands including Champion, Pacific Brands for Jockeyand Speedo.

Block Judge and editor-in-chief of Vogue Living, Neale Whittaker has been an ongoing fan of Dea’s style since her induction into the Block team, recently stating “this room oozes glamour. It’s sophisticated and luxurious, without being over the top, something that Dazand Dea have always done so well”.

Both are very well-acquainted with the renogame having renovated their 1910 three-bedroom Edwardian home in Melbourne’s Surrey Hills before entering The Block. They later sold for $1.753mil which is a 28.5% increase on the purchase price. Dea prides herself on “knowing the market, and delivering high quality classic designs that last”.

Testament to her popularity and skill on the Block, Dea has started her own interior stylist company which is already in demand with a number of residential and commercial clients. Dea’s proven style credibility and ability to engage the nation make her a sought after keynote and presenter at industry events, inparticular those where she has the opportunity to demonstrate her styling tips and advice including up coming events with AvelingHomesand Save The Children .

As a mum to her two daughters, Scarlett , 8 and Lily, 6, Dea has developed a strong passion for helping improve the lives and futures of disadvantaged children in Australia. She recently signed on to support the Save The Children Christmas in July Campaign where she will be lending a stylist hand to ‘Chistmafy’ the VIP dinner and other fun activities. Outside of all things interiors and fashion, Dea loves keeping fit and healthy and in her spare time loves a beach day with the family.
