Albany born violinist Madeleine Antoine received her Bachelor of Music Performance from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2010 where she was a member of the Villette string quartet -winners of the EKCO Chamber Prize (2009) and was a finalist in the Warana Concerto Competition in 2008 performing Wieniawski Concerto No.2 and again in 2009 performing Viextemps Concerto no.4 with the Faith Court Orchestra. Madeleine studied with Jacek Slawomirski and Peter Tanfield and at the conclusion of her study was placed on the Dean’s Honour roll.

Madeleine studied with Prof. Dana Vlachová and performed a recital at the Prague Conservatory of Music in 2010 and she gave a post-graduate recital at UWA the following year under the tutelage of Prof. Paul Wright.

Madeleine was the concertmaster of the West Australian Youth Orchestra in 2011 and 2012 and enjoyed performances with conductors including Vladimir Verbitsky, Arvo Volmer, Peter Moore and Ennio Morricone.

Solo performances include the Bruch Violin Concerto and Scheherazade violin solo with the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Vivaldi Concerto for 2 violins and Concerto for 4 violins with the Fremantle Chamber Orchestra and the WA Camerata and movements from Bach’s solo suites live on ABC Radio. Madeleine appeared as an on-stage soloist in a season with the WA Ballet’s production of ‘Strings 32’ at the Quarry Amphitheatre, Perth and at the Sydney Theatre. She has performed solo violin in theatre productions including the Swan River Saga with actor Jenny Davis. Madeleine performed in a season of Cameron Mackintosh’s ‘Les Misérables’ (2014-15) and has played in the WA Philharmonic Orchestra for the WA Ballet’s ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Snow White’.

As a regular performer with the Perth Symphony Orchestra Madeleine has enjoyed performances with stars such as Michael Bublé, Rod Stewart, John Farnham & Olivia Newton-John, Sara McLiver, The Ten Tenors, James Morrison & Diana Krall.

Madeleine also performs with various orchestras including the Perth Chamber Orchestra, Fremantle Chamber Orchestra, Australian Youth Orchestra, WA Philharmonic and WAAPA’s Indian Ocean Ensemble.

Currently she is studying a Masters of Arts (Performing Arts) at WAAPA under the tutelage of Alexandre da Costa. Madeleine enjoys regular performances for events including weddings, private and corporate functions and loves working with the many talented Perth ensembles and musicians.
