About Sydnee Carter

Sydnee Carter was a 16 year-old contestant from Wanneroo, Western Australia. She unsuccessfully auditioned for The X Factor in series five but said that busking at Fremantle Markets on weekends had helped her build up the confidence to try again. Aside from singing, Carter also plays guitar and writes her own music. She began playing the guitar at the age of six. Carter cites Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Macklemore, Michael Jackson, Rihanna and Taylor Swift as her musical influences. Prior to entering series six of The X Factor, Carter was a student at Sacred Heart College, Sorrento. Carter made it to the second bootcamp challenge, where she performed "Tennis Court" by Lorde to the judges and a live audience of one thousand. She then progressed to the home visits round in New York City and performed "We Found Love" by Rihanna in front of her mentor Ronan Keating and guest mentor John Legend. Keating later selected Carter for the live shows. She was in the bottom two for the first time in week three with Adrien Nookadu, but was saved by the public vote after the judges' vote went to deadlock. Carter was in the bottom two again in week five with Jason Heerah, but was eliminated after receiving three votes from Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Dannii Minogue and Redfoo.
