With the help of close friends, the twins formed a band called Teal, and released "Baby It's Over," a single that made the girls look after songwriters. After working with several different collaborators, the Origliassos signed a publishing contract and began a series of musical contributions to a number of artists, including Casey Donovan (Australian Idol winner), Miz (Japanese pop singer), and the Russian duo t.A.T.u. The twins were focused on becoming an international success on their own, they moved to Los Angeles to try their luck in America, where they changed their name to the Veronicas right after they turned twenty. It was after this that they landed a record deal with Sire (Warner Bros. Records).
In 2005 the company released the Veronicas' full-length album debut called “The Secret Life Of...”. The album fared best in Australia, generating three Top Ten singles and went quadruple platinum. Their second album release “Hook Me Up” followed in 2007, featuring a new wave-inspired sound, this one also went multi-platinum in Australia. The twins toured in support of the two albums and documented it with a live album, “Revenge Is Sweeter Tour” in early 2010.
In January 2010 they started working on the production of a third album, after two years they were ready to release the record in 2012. The records first single "Lolita" didn't perform well on the charts and Warner decided to postpone the release of the record for 2013. During the final stages of completing the record, the band continued to have troubles with their record company, they resigned from the label in October 2013. The twins signed with Sony Music, releasing the song "Did You Miss Me?" in March of that same year. Another single, called "You Ruin Me," was released before the group's third album named “The Veronicas” saw release in November, with a U.S. release in spring of 2015.
