Timomatic (Tim Omaji) was born on the 9th of September 1987, originally from Nigeria, the Omaji family moved to Australia when he was 10 months old. This singer-songwriter and dancer hit the spotlight at So You Think You Can Dance (AU) back in 2009 where he ended at the seventh place in the competition. Also he appeared as a contestant on Australia’s Got talent in 2011, this time ending up in third place, in this same year he signed with Sony Music releasing his first musical single “Set it off”. On November of 2011 this single reached at number two on ARIA Singles Chart, certifying it four times platinum. Raised in a musical household, his father used to play guitar for him and his siblings. This encourage young Tim to form his first band with family members at the age of 9 years old where he played percussions. The nickname “Timomatic” was given to him at the age of fifteen by his friends, this was because of his strong hip-hop influences and dancing skills. His early work includes holding an artistic director position and choreographer in Canberra for a dance company named Kulture. He was one of the main representatives of this dance company in overseas performances all around the globe. After dropping out of the University of Canberra, he enrolled at JMC Academy in 2008 where he achieved to finished a Diploma in Entertainment with a major in vocal training. Omaji later stated that this decision would help him achieve his musical goals. In 2013 “Parachute” his first single of the year was a major success followed by “If looks could kill” and “Set it Off” which became one of the highest played tracks in Australia that year.
