The legendary Tommy Funk has been tirelessly working for the past decade to bring diversity to the forefront of the Sydney clubbing scene. Working regularly alongside some of sydney's best dj's, Tommy Funk earned respect and critical acclaim from club hoppers and hosts, refining his renowned ability to read crowds and produce energetic, live sets.
Renowned for his ability to cross several genres and reach all audiences whilst still remaining contemporary, Tommy Funk covers all eras, designing his live sets to provide the best possible mixes of most genres including R&B, House, Electro, Dance, Old school, 80s Funk, Disco & Rock.
With his vast music knowledge, Tommy Funk began his career as a mobile dj in the sydney party scene, where he quickly mastered the art of versatility, adapting to a wide range of music styles and dropping the tunes that he knew would fuel energy into his crowds. Highly regarded by his loyal fans, Tommy Funk later took on the role of host for a radio show on 2RDJ 88.1FM Tuesdays called "Overdrive", which he pursued for two years until he decided to remained focused on full time DJing.
In March of 2008 Tommy expanded his work field of DJing and utilised his popularity to venture into promoting, starting his own night, "Evolution" at The Pink Pepper Lounge. The opening night was an indication of his huge success, with 300 people flocking to a 200 capacity venue to spend their night alongside the electric live set of Tommy Funk's mixed R&B, house & old school. The event continued its success for almost a year until January of 2009 when Tommy decided to concentrate on different aspects of his DJing career.
Tommy Funk has since been mixing beats and shaking dancefloors across Sydney with his basslines as a frequent DJ in various clubs amongst the inner city suburbs of Kings Cross, Darling Harbour and Parramatta. At present, Tommy can be found blasting his tunes to pleased crowds at Velvet Room (Parramatta) and at private functions across Sydney.
