Their repertiore has expanded to give the 'latin treatment' to popular songs such as 'Clocks' by Coldplay, and Jimmy Barnes' 'Flame Trees'. The mix is well seasoned with funk and jazz elements from the popular songs of Gloria Estefan, Carlos Santana, Sergio Mendes, Tito Puente and Hot Mambo’s original compositions. Having studied in Cuba, lead singer Wendy Murray interprets the songs with authenticity and passion. The jazz background of the band members is the secret ingredient allowing them to spontaneously and instinctively interact.
The result is a polished, cohesive and dynamic performance. Hot Mambo has performed in every setting from formal functions to the festivals and has recorded their debut CD, Smoke Signals.
