Ben, one of Brisbane’s most experienced media all-rounders, serves as the Head of Sport for 7News Brisbane, boasting three decades of experience in television and radio across sport, news, and current affairs. From the State of Origin dressing rooms and The Long Room at Lord’s to the AFL Grand Final, Ben has travelled the globe, interviewing Prime Ministers, World Champions, Premiers, National Sporting Captains, and newsmakers, engaging and informing audiences nationwide.
For 25 years as a sport reporter and presenter at Channel 7, Ben covered some of the biggest sporting events, including NRL and AFL Grand Finals, Ashes Tours, Wallabies European Tours, and Rugby League World Cups. Nationally, he has been a sports presenter on both *Sunrise* and *Weekend Sunrise*. In 2014, he transitioned to radio as the Drive Host on 4BC, expanding his skill set to include current affairs and live breaking news, covering significant events like the 2015 Queensland State Election, Jeff Horn’s “Battle of Brisbane” world title fight with Manny Pacquiao, the G20 Leaders Summit, and the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He has also been a regular contributor to Channel 7’s *Sunrise* and *Paul Murray Live* on Sky News.
An experienced MC, Ben has hosted some of Brisbane’s biggest events, including the AFL Gabba Grand Final, Broncos & Lions Chairman’s Lounge, Ronald McDonald House RED BOOT HOOT, the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols, JDRF’s Celebrity Sports Quiz, Brisbane International Launch Function, Hyundai Excellence Awards, Premier’s Resilience Awards, Cricket Australia’s Test Functions, and Brisbane Markets Mango Auction. In 2022, he joined SEN Radio’s launch into Queensland as the 693am SENQ Mornings host, covering major issues and breaking news in sport across the state, country, and globe. Ben is also a proud ambassador for the Queensland Cricketer’s Club and family-owned and run Westpoint Autos.
