About Clare Bowditch
Clare Bowditch is a musician, with lots of side-projects.
If you want the fancy stuff, read on; Clare is an ARIA Award-winning songwriter, and a Logie-nominated actor for her work on Channel 10′s “Offspring” TV show. She’s had Top Ten albums, been named Rolling Stone Woman of the Year (Contribution to Culture), YEN Young Woman of the Year (Music), toured the world with Gotye and nationally with Leonard Cohen, written for Harpers Bazaar and the Drum, and currently hosts an Australian Music Show on Qantas.
Clare is currently an Ambassador or contributor to the following organisations: APRA, the Australia Council, The Live Music Round Table, PPCA, and Smiling Mind.
Clare has recorded and released seven albums: five under her own name (google that), and two earlier releases with seven-piece Red Raku. Her last album “The Winter I Chose Happiness”, was released by Island Records in September 2012.
Clare believes that “work-life balance” is an elusive beast usually seen only out of the corner of one’s eye.
Clare records most of her work with producer Marty Brown (Standalone Studios), who just happens to both her Manager, and the father of their three awesome children, who are now growing up, which is how Clare finally found to time to launch her long-dreamt-of love-project, Big Hearted Business.
Big Hearted Business is built to be the kind of resource we wish had existed long before we did. The idea is housed in over at the Big Hearted Business website, along with an incredible collection of “Inspiration Bombs” (film and sound collaborations between artists and thinkers). They also run live events that, like, kill it.
