Colin Lane, known as the 'Lano' in the beloved comedy duo Lano & Woodley, is one half of Australia's favourite comedic pair. The duo's acclaimed series "The Adventures of Lano & Woodley" aired in over 30 countries, earning them the prestigious Perrier Award. Their farewell tour in 2006 reached 125,000 fans across 34 towns.
Post-duo, Colin has performed in numerous cabaret and comedy festivals across Australia. Notably, he teamed up with David Collins from The Umbilical Brothers for a comedic take on Gilbert and Sullivan in "The 3 Mikados."
Colin has been a familiar face on various Australian TV shows, including "Spicks and Specks," "Ready Steady Cook," "The Circle," "Good News Week," and "The Project." In 2013, he joined Stephen Fry and Alan Davies as a guest panellist on the UK's "QI," and has made several appearances since, including the Sandi Toksvig-hosted version in 2019.
He has also ventured into theatre, collaborating with Red Stitch under director Nadia Tass and The Production Company in "Curtains." Additionally, Colin partnered with opera singer David Hobson for "In Tails," a unique blend of singing, dancing, and comedy.
In 2016, Colin and Frank Woodley reunited for a surprise performance at the Melbourne Comedy Festival's 30th Birthday Bash, which was met with overwhelming enthusiasm. This led to their new show "FLY!" which won the 2018 Melbourne Comedy Festival People’s Choice Award and toured sold-out theatres nationwide. "FLY!" was recorded by Amazon Prime and released globally in 2020.
