Delta Goodrem's journey in the music industry began at the age of 15 when she signed a record deal with Sony Music Australia. Her debut album, "Innocent Eyes," proved to be a monumental success, becoming one of the highest-selling debut albums in Australian history. It spent an unprecedented 29 weeks at #1 on the Australian Albums Charts and achieved 23x platinum sales. Delta made history as the first artist ever to have five #1 singles from a debut album on the Australian charts. Her achievements were further recognised when she was awarded the ARIA Albums Artist of the Decade in 2010, outselling all other domestic and international artists in both albums and singles over the decade. Additionally, the album won the Highest Selling Album award at the ARIAs for two consecutive years and garnered a record seven awards in one year for a female artist.
Since her debut, Delta has continued to achieve remarkable success in the music industry, with 17 Top-10 hits, five #1 albums, and over 9 million records sold worldwide. She established her own label imprint, The House of Oz Records, with Sony Australia. Her latest album, "Wings of the Wild," debuted at #1 and featured the platinum hit single "Wings," marking her ninth #1 single. The album's accompanying sold-out arena tour in 2016 solidified Delta as the highest-selling female Australian touring artist of the year, and its live concert DVD topped the ARIA Charts.
Beyond her music career, Delta is an accomplished songwriter, having written and performed songs for notable artists such as Olivia Newton-John, Celine Dion, and Andrea Bocelli. She has also ventured into television, starting her career at age seven and later joining the cast of "Neighbours" at 16, where she earned a Logie Award for Most Popular New Talent. For nine years, Delta served as a coach on the Logie Award-winning TV show "The Voice Australia," mentoring artists to victory in multiple seasons. She also starred in the biopic "Hopelessly Devoted To You," portraying her mentor Olivia Newton-John.
In 2020, amidst global challenges, Delta continued to make an impact with her music and philanthropy. Inspired by the devastating bushfires in Australia, she released the powerful song "Let It Rain," with proceeds supporting Red Cross bushfire relief efforts. She performed at the Fire Fight Australia concert, reaching a national audience with her moving performance of "Let It Rain." Delta also participated in the One World: Together At Home festival, raising awareness and funds for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
In June 2020, Delta launched the Delta Goodrem Foundation, focusing on spreading kindness, hope, and support for those facing illness, hardship, and inequality. Collaborating with St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, the foundation funds medical research in cellular therapy for blood cancers and auto-immune diseases.
In May 2021, Delta released her sixth studio album, "Bridge Over Troubled Dreams," and her first book of the same title, both achieving #1 chart positions. Her diverse achievements across music, television, and philanthropy continue to define Delta Goodrem as a prominent figure in Australian entertainment.
