Gabriella Cilmi

Gabriella has spent most of her musical life surrounded by older men. "I am the youngest person that I work with!" she jokes. "I had to mature pretty quickly coming into this, cause otherwise people think they can walk all over you." She ascribes her feistiness to her Italian genes. "It makes me a very passionate person. All the women in my family are really strong minded, they run the show. I like everyone around me to tell the truth, you say how you feel and that's how it goes with me. But people can't really tell me what to do. Well, they can tell me, but I can listen to their advice and decide for myself." Gabriella Cilmi is growing up fast. But if her new music is anything to go by, she is having a lot of fun with it. "The whole album's kind of about me becoming an adult, becoming a little bit stronger." And she promises that this is just the beginning. "I want to really switch it on. I want to smother myself in gold paint, transform myself into someone else. I can't wait to get this show on the road."
