Known for his unique voice in the entertainment space and his activism for the rights of people across all spectrums, Jay is a crowd favourite.
As the son of a former Foreign Affairs diplomat, Jay was exposed to various Australian and international cultures from a young age, enriching his comedic and advocacy work. He traces his heritage to the Saibai Koedal people of Saibai Island, the Meriam people of Murray Island, and the Gudang/Yadaykenu people of Cape York, Pajinka, and Somerset, participating in events and gatherings in these locations.
Jay's career is marked by accolades across different artistic mediums. He has written and directed several short films, created sketches for GetUp! in collaboration with Steph Tisdell, and participated in writers' rooms for comedy scripts. His solo show "Torres Queer" has been performed throughout Australia, showcasing his whip-smart wit. Recently, Jay appeared in a speaking role on ABC’s Rosehaven, narrated for The Ironing Maidens: A Soap Opera, and has twice performed in the Deadly Funny Grand Final. He is quickly becoming a Melbourne International Comedy Festival favourite, performing in the prestigious "Comedy Zone" lineup in 2022 and touring Australia with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival roadshow.
