About Josh Thomas

At just 17, Josh Thomas made history as the youngest ever winner of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival's RAW Comedy Competition in 2005. He also reached the finals of Edinburgh's So You Think You're Funny, the UK's equivalent to RAW Comedy.

Following this early success, Josh faced the reality of the comedy circuit, performing in a tough tavern for an audience of 12 comics and a solitary man crying into his beer.

Josh has since brought his solo shows to the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and Sydney Comedy Festival. His talent has also been showcased at international events like the Smithwicks Cat Laughs Comedy Festival in Kilkenny, Ireland, and the Geel Comedy Festival in Belgium.

As the curator of the Brisbane Comedy Festival, Josh has cemented his reputation in the comedy scene. He has become a familiar face on Network TEN's Good News Week, performed stand-up on Rove, and served as the Generation Y Team Captain on Network TEN's Talkin' 'bout Your Generation.

In 2007, Josh's debut solo show, Please Like Me, earned him the Melbourne Airport Best Newcomer award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. This accolade was followed by a six-week tour with the Comedy Festival Roadshow and an invitation to perform at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal.
