Leo, born Gerard Hugh Sayer in 1948 in Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex, England, initially studied graphic design at Art College. By night, he honed his blues harmonica skills in London's folk clubs while working as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator in his late teens and twenties.
In 1971, Leo met co-writer David Courtney and soon after changed his name from Gerard to Leo, securing a management contract with former 60s pop star Adam Faith.
Leo Sayer's illustrious recording career boasts more than twenty top ten singles and five top ten albums on international music charts.
