Luke Heggie is a beloved comedian known for his dry, deadpan delivery and his knack for creating a fresh, hilarious show every year.
Performing six or seven nights a week, Luke is a staple at major comedy and arts festivals across Australia and New Zealand, consistently drawing sold-out crowds and receiving glowing reviews. His sharp wit has also garnered a dedicated following in the UK, particularly at London's Soho Theatre.
Luke's journey began as a RAW Comedy winner, and he has since amassed numerous accolades. He is a two-time ARIA Award nominee for Best Comedy Release, recipient of the 'Comic's Choice' Piece of Wood Award at the 2017 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, winner of the 2015 Sydney Comedy Festival’s Director’s Choice Award and was nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2012 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. In 2021, he was nominated for Most Outstanding Show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and won Best Show at the Sydney Comedy Festival for his critically acclaimed performance, LOWBREED.
Luke has made several television appearances, including live performances at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Opening Night Allstars Supershow, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Oxfam Gala, and Just for Laugh’s Stand-Up Series at the Sydney Opera House for the Comedy Channel. He has also featured on Ten’s The Project, ABC’s Question Everything, ABC’s Comedy Next Gen, and Comedy Up Late. In 2020, he released his hour-long special Tip Rat on CH10, TENPLAY, and Paramount Plus, along with Rough Diamante via ABC Comedy Podcasts. Most recently, in 2022, Luke appeared on ABC's The Weekly, where he wrote and performed a segment on The Evolution of Masculinity.
In addition to his live and televised performances, Luke co-hosts the popular podcast Mid-Flight Brawl with fellow comedian Nick Cody. The podcast, which chronicles the most outrageous air rage incidents, has become a hit, showcasing Luke's unique comedic perspective on the absurdities of air travel.
