In 2001 he was an invited guest for the Encore Concert at The Sydney Opera House. With only 20 years he has performed and travel all over the globe, appearing at festivals, venues and events while demonstrating a unique sound and musical style with a noticeable predilection towards Jazz Music.
He was accepted at the renowned Conservatorium of Music in Sydney by 2003, where he achieved a major in Jazz Saxophone. Nic had the most outstanding Jazz musicians in Australia as mentors and teachers, Dale Barlow, Judy Bailey, Andrew Dickenson, Col Loughnan, Steve Brien and Craig Scott to mention a few.
Nic has kept a busy performance schedule for the past ten years, some of these performances include the Wangaratta Jazz Festival, The Rocks Aroma Coffee Festival, Newcastle Jazz Festival, The Noosa Jazz Festival, The Sydney Festival and The Darling Harbour Jazz Festival. By 2007 he was a featured guest Artist at the International Manly Jazz Festival.
2010 was a huge year for Jeffries as well, his band went on tour with International Star Chef Jamie Oliver. Also, his band Wonderbrass was part of several TV projects including a pilot for a show hosted by Ian Thorpe and a TV Series soon to be aired in June by the Foxtel’s Aurora Channel.
His debut album was released in August 2011, it included guest collaborations from musicians including James Muller (Australian Jazz Guitar Icon), James Mullen (Trumpet) and John Pennings.
By 2012 he started pursuing further vocal knowledge, his mentor was Grammy Award winner Kurt Elling, his vocal skills lead him to perform as a front vocalist for most of 2013 with Jazz Star musician James Morrison.
