Uncle Jed is a musical collaboration anchored by cousins Danny (Bass) and Shannon (Keys), alongside their cousin Laura, whose exceptional vocals define their sound. Rooted in jazz, Uncle Jed seamlessly blends background jazz with boogie funk and deep soul. They are regulars on Sydney’s premier stages and tour nationally.
Originally from Coffs Harbour, brothers Danny and Shannon Stitt relocated to Sydney in 2005 to join forces with Laura, driven by their shared passion for music. Since then, they have never looked back.
Their self-titled debut album, released in mid-2010, saw Uncle Jed perform to a sold-out crowd at The Basement, marking the beginning of a strong Sydney fan base. They've gained airplay on triple J and other community stations and have toured the east coast extensively, building momentum with each tour.
Uncle Jed's music is a fusion of their diverse influences—Funk, Soul, Reggae, and Jazz—and has evolved to include up to a 7-piece ensemble of talented musicians and friends they've met in Sydney.
Continuing to innovate, Uncle Jed released a new album in 2020 and their single 'Amazed by You' in 2021, reflecting their ongoing evolution and limitless future in the music scene.
