Since winning this popular competition, his career has been growing at a very fast pace, including achievements like releasing eight top ten albums, two of them reaching number one positions, seven of these albums gained platinum and multi-platinum certification. His musical success includes twenty singles that reached top ten positions on the charts, six of these songs became number one hits.  The single “Battle Scars” was certified nine times platinum and his debut single called “Angels Brought Me Here” became the highest selling song of the last decade in Australia. As one of the most successful artist of the decade his albums have reached fifty-one platinum and seven gold certifications, combining sales between albums and singles the total of over three million sold in the Australian territory, this number gave him a certification for the Highest Sales of any Australian Idol participant.

He has collaborated and worked with the most acclaimed musicians of America, like Brian McKnight, Robin Thicke, Steve Cropper, John Mayer, Jordin Sparks, Eve and Lupe Fiasco. The single “Battle Scars” was the result of a collaboration with Fiasco, this song was on the US Billboard Chart Hot 100 for twenty weeks.

In the course of his career Sebastian has earned twenty-five nominations for the ARIA Awards, achieving four awards that include Best Live Act and Best Pop Release. He has received a various number of different awards including the Urban Music Award for Best R&B Album and Best Male Artist, the APRA Urban Work of the Year, the OZ Artist of the Year and an award for “Battle Scars” from the International Song writing Competition. Amongst his most remarkable performances, he has sung for Queen Elizabeth II, Pope Benedict XVI and Oprah Winfrey. On 2015 he achieved the fifth place at Eurovision Song Contest representing Australia.
