Damien Thomlinson survived a Taliban bomb while serving as an Australian Commando in Afghanistan. Facing life as a double amputee with an uncertain future ahead of him, Damien is the definition of perseverance and of the need to embrace change. While learning how to walk and dealing with a whole new life, Damien Thomlinson has continued to challenge and reinvent himself.
Embracing golf to manage his own mental health, most especially during COVID, Damien Thomlinson is now professionally ranked as one of the top multi-amputee golfers in the world (#1 or #2 depending on the month!). No challenge is half-done with Damien!
Dealing with change, striving for self-improvement, surrounding yourself with a supportive network, being resilient and having a positive mindset are traits that Damien takes into his keynote talks, and resonates more in 2022 than ever before.
He maintains a strong public and media profile and is always very impactful at in-person events not just during his speech but when interacting with guests.
With appearances at the 2014 and 2016 Invictus Games as well as screen features in Hacksaw Ridge in late 2015, Thomlinson has truly embraced life to the fullest, representing the ANZAC spirit.
