About Darryl Brohman

Darryl Brohman is a prominent figure in sports media, beloved for his charismatic persona and extensive career in rugby league. Nicknamed The Big Marn, he rose to fame as a player for Penrith and Canterbury during the 1970s and 1980s.

Transitioning seamlessly into sports commentary, Darryl became a fixture at Radio Station 2GB, where he remains active today. He also enjoyed a stint on Channel 9's popular Footy Show and is widely recognized for his entertaining commercials for Lowes menswear.

Beyond his media roles, Darryl is renowned as an engaging after-dinner speaker and adept MC, leveraging his outgoing nature and deep football knowledge.

Darryl attended Wavell High School in Brisbane, graduating in 1973 before embarking on a distinguished NRL career. He made 114 first-grade appearances, clinching a premiership with the Bulldogs in the mid-80s. Although he represented Queensland in two State of Origin games, many believe he was deserving of a national call-up.

Known for his sharp football acumen, Darryl, like Laurie Daley, is committed to mentoring young players, reflecting his enduring passion for the sport.
