During his time at Getaway, David also wrote a regular column, titled Reynes World, for Melbournes The Herald Sun. David still continues his work as a travel writer and is a regular contributor to the Traveller section of The Age. As an actor, David has appeared on film, stage and television. His credits include The Man From Snowy River, The Flying Doctors and Sweet and Sour, for which he won the Logie award for Best New Talent in 1985.
As well as his presenting duties on Getaway, David has also served as a former co-host on Nines The Midday Show alongside Tracy Grimshaw, has presented at The AFI Awards, The Logies, and The Peoples Choice Awards. More recently, David was the co-host on 9am with David and Kim on Network Ten, where he impressed all with his entertaining and thought-provoking interviewing style. The programme was much admired as an informative and worthwhile morning show alternative.
David is also a much sought-after celebrity speaker and Master of Ceremonies. In his personal life, David is a husband of marathon duration, a muddled parent, a golfer of astonishing inability, a fair-weather surfer, a raconteur of delight and surprise, and a feverish explorer of whatever may take him beyond the next rise and around the next swamp!
