Geraldine Doogue is a distinguished Australian journalist and broadcaster with a rich career spanning print, television, and radio. Initially planning to pursue a career in teaching after earning her Arts degree, Geraldine's path took a different turn in 1972 when she impulsively applied for a journalism cadetship with The West Australian.
Over the years, Geraldine has made significant contributions to both the ABC and commercial media. Her work has earned her two Penguin Awards for excellence in broadcasting from the Television Society of Australia and a United Nations Media Peace Prize. In recognition of her exceptional social and cultural reporting, she was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2000. Three years later, in 2003, she was appointed an Officer in the Order of Australia for her services to the community and media.
