Liz Ellis is one of Australia’s most prominent elite athletes and one of the country's most successful netballers. In 2005, she broke the record for the most test matches played for Australia, ultimately achieving 122 test caps before her retirement in 2007. Liz captained both the Sydney Swifts and the Australian Netball Team, leading her teams to numerous victories. Her career highlights include three World Championships, two Commonwealth Games Gold Medals, and four National Premierships with the Sydney Swifts. Additionally, she was named Australia’s Most Valuable Player four times.
Beyond her achievements on the court, Liz has forged a successful career as a broadcaster. Liz’s professional acumen extends into the business world. She worked as a solicitor for four years, specializing in property and infrastructure at a major law firm. She sits on several boards, contributing to audit and risk committees, and owns and operates Australia’s largest commercial netball camps, the Liz Ellis Netball Clinics.
In recognition of her contributions to netball, her encouragement of women in sport, and her support for various charitable organizations, Liz was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2009.
