Oscar Jimenez, singer, arranger, composer, guitarist and producer is an experienced performer of many styles. From Caribbean and South American traditional songs to reggae, funk and Latin jazz with a modern tip. Referencing Buena Vista Social Club, Carlos Vives, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Gilberto Gil, Bebel Gilberto and many more, Oscar is able to sing in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French.
As lead singer guitarist of famous Sydney band Watussi [watussi.com.au], Oscar have shared stages with many international artist such as Sharon Jones, Bajofondo, Cesaria Evora, Clube do Balanço, and toured internationally to New Zealand, Korea and Japan. Watussi’s album “Tequila–Sangre –Fuego”, produced by Oscar, was nominated for an Aria for Best World Music Album in 2008.
