About Paul Mac
Pauls acclaimed gold selling debut solo album 3000 Feet High was released in August 2001 by indie label, Eleven: a music company through Virgin/EMI. Recorded in his Blue Mountains studio, the albums first single sold out its pressing within a week of release. The second single, the gold selling anthem Just The Thing (featuring vocals by Peta Morris), was a #1 multi format hit. This was followed by the top 5 airplay smash The Sound Of Breaking Up (also featuring vocals by Peta Morris) and the irresistible Gonna Miss You (featuring vocals by Abby Dobson).
Paul formed a band with Silverchairs Daniel Johns called The Dissociatives in 2004. Their self titled debut album was one of the most acclaimed releases of that year. The album was also a commercial success yielding two top 40 singles and was certified gold within a week of its release. The Dissociatives received six nominations at the 2004 ARIA Awards including Best Album and Best Group while their visual guru, James Hackett, walked away with the awards for "Best Artwork" and "Best Video".
