Tracey Spicer AM BBus (Comm) GAICD is a highly acclaimed author, journalist, and broadcaster, celebrated with multiple Walkley Awards. She has anchored programs for prominent networks including ABC TV, radio, Network Ten, and Sky News. As the inaugural national convenor of Women in Media, Tracey is renowned as one of the most sought-after keynote speakers and emcees both on stage and online across the region.
In 2019, Tracey was honoured as the NSW Premier’s Woman of the Year and shared the Sydney Peace Prize with Tarana Burke for their contributions to the Me-Too movement. She also received the national Excellence in Women’s Leadership award from Women & Leadership Australia. Tracey’s influence was further recognised in 2018 when she was named among the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence, winning the Social Enterprise and Not-For-Profit category. She was also named Agenda Setter of the Year by Women’s Agenda.
For her exceptional career spanning three decades in media and charity work, Tracey has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia. Her impactful documentaries have focused on women and girls in countries such as Bangladesh, Kenya, Uganda, Papua New Guinea, and India.
Tracey serves as an Ambassador for several organisations including ActionAid, Cancer Council NSW, QUT’s Learning Potential Fund, The Ethnic Business Awards Foundation, SISTER2sister, and Purple Our World. She is also the Patron of the Pancreatic Cancer Alliance.
Her bestselling debut book, The Good Girl Stripped Bare, and her widely viewed TEDx Talk, The Lady Stripped Bare, underscore her influence as a writer and speaker. Tracey’s essays have been featured in numerous books, reflecting her diverse interests and insights.
The ABC highlighted Tracey’s pivotal #metoo advocacy in the documentary series Silent No More, which shed light on the stories of survivors.
