Catherine Deveny is a multifaceted talent, known as a comedy writer, comedian, author, social commentator, and broadcaster. She gained prominence through her work as a columnist for The Age and as a regular on the ABC.
Recognised as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Melburnians, Deveny is an outspoken atheist and, like two of her sons, is dyslexic. Her extensive charity and community work includes contributions to the Asylum Seeker’s Resource Centre, initiatives for homelessness, and Broken Rites. She proudly serves as an ambassador for Dying With Dignity Victoria and International Day of People with Disability and is the patron of Griefline alongside Father Bob. Additionally, Catherine was a founding member of Friends of Public Housing.
