Norman is a co-host on RN’s Health Report and played a pivotal role during the COVID-19 pandemic as a co-host of Coronacast, a podcast dedicated to discussing the coronavirus. His insights also feature prominently as a reporter and commentator on ABC’s 7.30, Midday, News Breakfast, and Four Corners, and he occasionally guest hosts RN Breakfast. A recipient of the esteemed Gold Walkley and multiple other Walkley Awards, including one shared with his Coronacast colleagues in 2020, Norman has also produced "Invisible Enemies," a documentary exploring pandemics and civilisation for Channel 4 UK and SBS, reaching audiences in 27 countries. He holds distinctions such as the medal of the Australian Academy of Science, an honorary MD from the University of Sydney, and was elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences in October 2022.
Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, Norman authored two books. "So You Think You Know What’s Good For You" (Hachette) became a bestselling title, also finding success in the UK. His latest book, "So You Want To Live Younger Longer," has similarly enjoyed bestseller status.
Norman's professional journey began with medical and paediatric training in Aberdeen, London, and Sydney before transitioning to his role at the ABC.
