Melissa is a highly accomplished and decorated journalist with over three decades of experience, widely recognized as one of Australia's most trusted voices in media.
She began her career as a television news reporter and weather presenter at WIN TV in Canberra, later moving to Prime TV before joining the Seven Network in 1995, initially in Canberra and then Sydney. Melissa co-hosted Sunrise from 1997 to 2013, transforming it into Australia's top-rated breakfast program.
Throughout her career, Melissa has covered major events including the Beaconsfield mine disaster, Prince William and Catherine Middleton's Royal Wedding, multiple Olympic Games, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and significant natural disasters and elections. Her interviews include notable figures like Tom Cruise, Justin Bieber, and Katy Perry.
Melissa transitioned to Seven News in 2013, anchoring live coverage of pivotal moments such as the births and weddings of British royalty and significant national events. Her work has been honoured with a Walkley Award, a Logie, and three international Edward R. Murrow Awards for coverage of the Lindt Café Siege.
She later hosted Seven's flagship program, Sunday Night, and in 2020 left after a successful tenure across various programs including news, current affairs, and entertainment.
