John Aloisi is a former Australian soccer player and current coach.
Aloisi was a prolific striker who played for various clubs including Adelaide United, Central Coast Mariners, and Sydney FC in the A-League, as well as overseas clubs in Europe.
He is most famously remembered for scoring the decisive penalty in Australia's victory over Uruguay in 2005, which secured Australia's qualification for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
After retiring from playing, Aloisi transitioned into coaching, managing A-League teams such as Melbourne Heart/City and Brisbane Roar.
His contributions to Australian soccer both on and off the field have cemented his legacy in the sport.
He is currently head coach for the Melbourne team, Western United Football Club.
