Mike Munro is a distinguished Australian journalist and television presenter, celebrated for his captivating life story and esteemed career. Raised in a Marist monastery by his single mother, Munro's foray into journalism began at 17 as a copy boy for Sydney newspapers. His talent and dedication soon propelled him to a role as a foreign correspondent for Newscorp's New York bureau, where he travelled the world and interviewed numerous high-profile figures.
Returning to Australia, Munro reported for major programs such as Willesee and 60 Minutes, later stepping into hosting roles for A Current Affair and Sunday Night. He then joined Foxtel, where he produced a series of documentaries for the History Channel, including a four-part series based on his best-selling book, The Last Bushrangers. This series reveals the true story of his great uncles, Patrick and Jimmy Kenniff, and uncovers the 80-year family secret behind the illegal change of Munro's surname to distance the family from the notorious bushrangers.
In 2014, Munro was honoured as a Member of the Order of Australia for his significant contributions to journalism and charity work. He is also a highly sought-after speaker, known for his inspiring presentations and deeply personal This is Your Life stories.
