“I don’t think women get the same opportunities as men, and I want to see women shining in more areas of life. In sport, in business, everywhere.” – Moana Hope
Moana Hope is not only a powerhouse in Women’s Football but also a familiar face to Australian audiences from her appearances on Australian Survivor: Champions Vs Contenders (2018) and as the 3rd place winner on Australian Survivor: All Stars (2020).
Moana embodies strength and talent, excelling as an AFLW player for premier teams like the Darebin Falcons, St Kilda Sharks, Melbourne University, and the Western Bulldogs. Her remarkable achievement of kicking over 100 goals in the 2016 AFL Women’s season set a historic milestone for female players.
Beyond the football field, Moana has made significant strides as a businesswoman and advocate against sexism. She has been featured on ABC’s Australian Story alongside Susan Alberti and authored her memoir "My Way" in 2017, published by Melbourne University Press.
Moana's influence extends to ambassadorial roles for brands like NIKE, Special K, and Gameday Hydralyte, as well as collaborations with MYER, Tommy Hilfiger, and the Melbourne Racing Club. She is also a sought-after public speaker and runs her own Traffic Control company.
Deeply committed to family, Moana is a full-time carer for her sister Lavina ('Vinny'), who lives with Moebius Syndrome. In 2020, Moana and Isabella welcomed their daughter Svea Hope Carlstrom via IVF, further enriching their lives with love and joy.
