Surprisingly, this no-stakes game was one of ABC TV’s consistently highest rating shows for many years. After 277 episodes, Myf, Alan and Adam decided to go out on a high and called it a day. In their absence, Spicks & Specks continues to be repeated on ABC2 every weeknight. At this rate, Spicks & Specks may remain on Australian TV forever.
In 2012 Myf, Adam and Alan said goodbye to the nation and performed a concert version of the TV show in theatres all around Australia. Called the Spicks & Speck-tacular, it played to audiences of over 80,000 people.
Myf’s first foray into solo television was her own 6 part documentary series that screened on ABC TV in 2012 and 2013, Myf Warhurst’s Nice. It was an exploration into the great, and not so great, music, art, food, fashion, photography and design of her youth.
Highlights include fulfilling a childhood dream of singing the duet Islands In The Stream with Kenny Rogers, and re-creating Craig McLachan’s music video for the song Mona. For this clip she was required to wear the worst pair of jeans worn on Australian TV. Myf says the end result was worth it. The public might disagree. Myf also currently contributes reports to The Project , a news program for Network Ten.
