About Paul Hockey

Paul Hockey achieved a historic milestone as the first person with a disability to reach the summit of Mount Everest, conquering the North Side route.

At just three weeks old, Paul lost his right arm to cancer, a disease that tragically claimed the lives of his mother, father, stepfather, and an aunt. Motivated by his family’s devastating history with cancer, Paul has dedicated himself to raising awareness and funds for cancer research.

A sought-after corporate and after-dinner speaker, Paul shares his deeply personal journey with sincerity and passion, delivering his core message: “Never give up… never ever give up!!!” His motivational talks are also highly valued by schools and sporting groups.

“I want to set an example that anyone can do anything if they have a good attitude,” says Paul. “It does not matter if they have a disability.”

Paul’s compelling and inspiring story of determination and resilience against all odds resonates profoundly with his audience, leaving them inspired to strive for their own personal best.
