Throughout her career, Anne-Marie became increasingly aware of the failures within our social systems in supporting those in need. While some might turn away, Anne-Marie found these issues deeply frustrating. In December 2013, a profound wake-up call came with the tragic loss of a young person close to her heart.
Jordan, a vibrant 17-year-old, dedicated much of his free time to helping other young people overcome depression, drug use, and homelessness. Tragically, he passed away in his sleep just one day before his 18th birthday.
This loss had a significant impact on Anne-Marie, motivating her to take action against the failures of social structures that neglect the voiceless in our community. Inspired by Jordan's legacy, she embarked on a heartfelt mission to create sustainable solutions for those in serious need.
In February 2014, Anne-Marie founded The Collective NSW, a networking group aimed at protecting the most vulnerable through cross-sector and community collaboration. This innovative approach emphasizes community-led problem-solving initiatives rather than relying solely on government interventions.
The Collective NSW is a movement by the people, for the people, emphasizing that every single life matters.
As a professional speaker, Anne-Marie’s passion for collaborative disruption is unmistakable. In a culture that often views social problems as insurmountable, she challenges us all to step up and seek opportunities to drive change.
As a published writer and TEDx speaker, Anne-Marie advocates for disrupting the status quo and equips others with the tools to do the same.
