About Jamie Oliver

He got his first job at Neal Street Restaurant own by Antonio Carluccio, where he was a pastry chef, it was at this place where Olivier developed a relationship with mentor Gennaro Contaldo and also gained skills at preparing Italian Cuisine. In 1997, he was employed at The River Café for the sous chef positon, the BBC noticed him after his appearance at the documentary “Christmas at the River Café”. By 1999 he had his own show at the BBC called “The Naked Chef”, this year Olivier released his first cookbook also called “The Naked Chef” which later would become a number one best seller in the UK. He became the face of Sainsbury (UK Supermarket chain) in 2000, closing a contract deal for two million a year. This partnership lasted for eleven years, ending at the end of 2011. Jamie moved to Channel 4 to start a new documentary series called “Jamie’s Kitchen” followed by the opening of his own restaurant under the name of “Fifteen” in London. In 2003 he was granted with an MBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire). Olivier started a project in 2005 to promote healthy eating amongst School Children (Feed me better), he managed to involve the Government as well. This awareness campaign caught the attention of the public, voting him to become “Most Inspiring Political Figure” according to a viewer poll held by Channel 4 News. He continued inspiring viewers to eat healthier by creating the television series “Jamie’s Ministry of Food”. Another successful project launched in 2008, “Jamie’s Italian” his first franchised restaurant in Oxford UK. This venture was very popular, opening thirty-five restaurants in the United Kingdom and expanding into USA, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Ireland, Russia and Singapore. Olivier launched another show in 2010 called “Jamie Olivier’s Food Revolution” this time he filmed the program in the United States, visiting different cities to change the eating habits of Americans. The Canadian Supermarket brand Sobeys made a partnership with Olivier in 2013, this time to make a campaign to promote healthy eating. This same year he also signed with Australian Supermarket Woolworths for a series advertisement campaigns of nutrition improvement. In 2016 he teamed up with Hello Fresh (meal kit subscription service), this partnership consists on the incorporation of Oliver’s recipes to the subscriber’s menu.
