About Lennox Jordan
Lennox Jordan was born in Trinidad in 1966. His father, Aldwyn 'Madman' Jordan, was a renowned steelpan maker and steelband leader. After his father's death in 1991, Lennox took over leadership of the Fascinators Pan Symphony, one of Trinidad's highly regarded 60-piece steel orchestras. As well as leading the band, Lennox was a successful solo pan player in Trinidad's many steelband competitions and was an accomplished player, arranger, and steelpan maker. He learned the art of pan making from his father and further honed his craft in Switzerland under Esa Tervala, one of Europe's top pan makers. Since moving to Australia, Lennox has built a reputation as a talented arranger and steelband musician. He has arranged music for two of the winning bands of the Australian Steelband Festival in Marysville, Vic, and has performed with four of the steelbands. He has also been involved in the development of two new steelbands and has worked as an arranger for the Royal Guard of Oman Steelband. Along with his pan making and steelband arranging commitments, Lennox has been a feature artist with the Melbourne Ska Orchestra and is part of Bustamento, a five-piece band that plays the popular music of Trinidad and Tobago. He is also the founding president of PANZ - the Steelband Association of Australia/New Zealand. He’s also an integral part of Bustamento, a five piece band that plays the popular music of Trinidad and Tobago. Lennox has been the founding President of PANZ - the Steelband Association of Australia/New Zealand - since its inception in 2010.
